I'm a queer, lefty, polyamorous, white, cis, feminist, mostly-female woman with disabilities. I am also a Quaker, a Pagan, a musician, an actor, a writer, and an obsessive lover of mountains, woods and seas. :-)

I am on the internet elsewhere, mostly as [personal profile] mirabehn. This is a particular space for exploring how I exist within the world: where my religion, politics and philosophy intersect and - especially - what I am slowly and gradually trying to do about it. It's about peacefully working on my life and lifestyle to be more actively loving towards the world and the people within it.


Things that may happen on this journal: prayers, aphorisms, recipes, agonising about learning to garden, discussion of the limitations that having disabilities plays on environmentalism, book reviews, film reviews, etc.

This is not a place for my anger about injustices to go, or for more conventional forms of activism. I have a lot, and I do some, and they are important and good, but they go elsewhere. This is a space for me to be positive and compassionate and loving, and to think about how we can build a new world rather than tear the old one down.

I do not expect this to always be even slightly easy. I don't imagine for a moment that it's meant to be. :-)
